Ladies Bible Study - Karen Patrick

The Ladies First Ministry of FBC Sylacauga provides an ongoing study group focused on apologetics and worldview topics. We recognize that in a culture that is increasingly hostile to the Biblical worldview, it is vital to equip ourselves to articulate a defense of historic Christianity. Our desire is to follow the instructions from God’s Word in 1 Peter 3:15:  “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” We typically read and study a book together over the course of approximately eight weeks, often utilizing a video driven and discussion approach. Past topics have included discovering basic apologetic arguments, equipping our kids, addressing doubt, learning tactics for defending our faith, and reviewing essential Christian doctrines. This group meets on Wednesday nights at 5:30 PM concurrent with children’s ministry activities. This group uses a discussion format and is focused on equipping parents to engage with their children about specific questions and challenges to the faith that they may face.
