Trust . Join . Grow . Serve . Reach

outreach

Outreach is vital to the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Churches are not called to embrace an inward focus, but an outward one. We do not exist for ourselves but for others—the people we hope to reach with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus, at every generational level, we provide activities and ministries designed to build relationships with people who are NOT church members or attenders. Our goal is to get outside the walls of the church in order to carry Christ to the world.

As an outreach to our community, we offer a variety of activities open to any child who desires to attend. Our goal is to meet the spiritual and social needs of every child as we seek to introduce them to Jesus. One very popular outreach event is our Vacation Bible School. The majority of the kids who attend are not yet members of our church. However, as we share with them, and they get to know us better, they often grow more comfortable here over time and decide to trust in Christ and join the church family.

YOUTH

Our commitment to the Great Commission leads us to share the life changing power of the gospel. We encourage our students to invite others to The Exchange, a Wednesday Night, youth-oriented praise and worship service beginning at 6:00 PM in the Youth Suite. Students also engage in a variety of personal witnessing efforts. One approach is the distribution of The Lifebook resource produced by the Gideons. In all our efforts to reach out, we simply want to share the love of Jesus with everyone in the world.

By reaching out through young and median adults, we are intentionally inviting them to participate in our Bible studies, fellowship, music and missions. Part of this endeavor involves engaging parents whose children and youth participate in AWANA's and in The Exchange. These parents often have no other connection to the church except for the involvement of their kids. When we see parents at school activities, children's clubs and sports events, we are very intentional in reaching out and inviting them to join us.

SENIOR ADULTS

Our Senior Adults reach out to share the love of Jesus in many ways. First, we write cards and visit guests in our Sunday School classes to make them feel at home. Second, we provide an In Home In Touch Ministry in order to stay in contact with those members whose disabilities no longer permit them to attend church. Third, we serve a luncheon once a month as an outreach to the whole community. Known as the Metallic Club, we serve a potluck meal, feature some type of program, and enjoy our time together.
